Things to know about strawberry picking season in New Jersey:
    • The start of the season can vary depending on geographic area (strawberry picking season usually starts earlier in South Jersey than in North Jersey), varieties of berries, and local weather conditions and can range anywhere from mid-May to mid-June. Check the farm website and/or call to confirm that pick-your-own strawberries are available.
    • Weather conditions can affect farm hours. Again, call the farm to confirm that the pick-your-own strawberry fields are open.
    • It can get hot out in the strawberry fields and there is no shade. Bring water and wear sunscreen! A wide-brimmed hat is not a bad idea either.

  1. You gave some great advice for those who are looking to come out for strawberry season. As you said, bring plenty of water because it does get really hot out there with no shade!
