Things to Do In New Jersey – Diggerland USA!

Looking for things to do in New Jersey with the kids? Check out “Diggerland USA”, the only construction-themed adventure park in North America! This brand-new theme park in Berlin, New Jersey just opened in June of this year and the reviews are glowing!

Diggerland USA gives visitors the opportunity to operate REAL heavy machinery such as excavators, backhoes, skid steer loaders and more in a safe, family-friendly environment. The park also features rides like the “Spin Dizzy” and “Sky Shuttle”, as well as other attractions such as a ropes course, rock wall, and obstacle course. There’s even a daily stunt show showcasing “heavy machinery acrobatics”, all performed by Backhoe Brandon! As a mom of 3 boys, I sure wish there had been a place like this in New Jersey when they were a bit younger!

Diggerland USA is adjacent to Sahara Sam’s Water Park, and each park offers an $8 discount on admission upon presentation of your full day ticket receipt from the other park. Diggerland also offers discounted tickets to AAA Club members, military and first responders, students with straight A’s on their report cards, and a discounted birthday month admission. Season passes are also available. Admission is FREE for non-participating guests over 65 years and for children under 36 inches tall.

Things to know before you visit Diggerland USA:

  • Since you’ll be operating real heavy machinery, proper footwear is recommended (i.e., not flip-flops).
  • There’s not much shade in the park, so bring sunscreen.
  • Most attractions require a minimum height of 36 inches, so there won’t be much to do for a really small child. They do have a Kid Zone play area and Barrel Train ride that have no minimum height requirement.

Diggerland USA is located at Pinedge Drive in West Berlin, New Jersey.

Other things to do in the area include Sahara Sam’s Water Park, blueberry picking and peach picking at local New Jersey farms, Batsto Village, Atsion Recreation Area, Wharton State Forest.
