Hi there! Welcome to June in New Jersey! The weather is warming up and it’s really starting to feel like the beginning of summer out there. Thoughts are turning to Jersey Fresh produce from our Garden State farms (don’t miss out on yummy Jersey strawberries – find a NJ pick-your-own farm here) and fun summer fairs and festivals. New Jersey’s premiere music and food festival returns to Marine Park in Red Bank this weekend, when the 25th Annual RiverFest comes to town! RiverFest features three days of delicious food from area restaurants and festival caterers, non-stop entertainment by the best local and regional musicians (including headliners Young Rising Sons!), and lots of other fun things to do including riverboat cruises on the Navesink River, shopping for fine handmade items and artwork in artisan’s alley, and tons of fun things to do for the kids at Nathan’s Famous KidsZone with children’s rides, games and activities!

Brunhilda, Shield Maiden and Daughter to the Viking King Budli, has refused to be wed to the winner of her father’s tournament for her hand. Instead, she takes her trusted Shield Maidens with her and flees into the woods. The magic of the faeries woods whisks her to Crossford… but her father is not so easily defied. As Vikings descend upon Crossford, Queen Elizabeth also sets off to investigate rumors of the mysterious happenings in Crossford.

Step back in time to the 1500’s and the magical village of Crossford, England at the New Jersey Renaissance Faire. Mingle among kings and queens, dukes and duchesses, and common villagers as you witness sword fights, watch a human chess match, view an archery demonstration, and much more. Enjoy live music and dancing; watch as master glassblowers, blacksmiths, and other craftsmen create beautiful handcrafted pieces of art before your eyes; shop amongst over 50 vendors selling fine crafts, clothing, jewelry, and more; indulge in tasty treats like dragon legs, meat pies, and giant pickles on a stick! Daily admission to the Faire is $25 for adults and $15 for children (VIP and season passes are available). The New Jersey Renaissance Faire continues next weekend with dates on June 11th and 12th.

Delaware “Bay Day” is the largest free festival in the tri-state region, taking place along the wild and scenic Maurice River in the historic New Jersey fishing villages of Bivalve and Port Norris. East Point Lighthouse in Heislerville will also be a satellite site for this event. Bay Day will be packed with fun things to do including the Bay Day Strut Street Parade, river cruises on the A.J. Meerwald, educational demonstrations and exhibits, live music , Jersey-grown wine tasting, New Jersey beer tastings, mouth-watering Jersey Fresh seafood and other local fare, blue crab races, mini-golf, free crafts, a lighted boat parade, games, races, and contests and fireworks! Free parking with shuttle transport to festival sites. Admission to Bay Day is free!

Fido’s Festival USA is a fun-filled dog-friendly New Jersey event that promises to be a weekend of fun for dogs, dog-lovers, and their families. Dog and family-friendly activities will include Ultimate Air Dogs dock diving, superhero-themed contests, Lure for a Cure lure racing benefiting the National Canine Cancer Foundation, Disc-Connected K9s-World Famous Frisbee Dogs, agility competitions and demonstrations, demonstrations by dog experts, dog product and service vendors, a special kids’ activity area, a food court, canine entertainment, and much more! Rescues and shelters will be present with adoptable dogs.
