The Sussex County Miners, part of baseball’s independent Can-Am league, plays at Skylands Park in Augusta NJ. This northern New Jersey minor league ballpark is nestled among the rolling hills and farmland of Sussex County NJ. The ballpark’s design pays homage to the farming tradition of the New Jersey Skylands as, when viewed from the outside, it looks like a big red barn. Major league players who once played at Skylands Park include Adam Kennedy, Matt Morris, and Jose Oquendo.

Also part of the Can-Am league, the New Jersey Jackals play at Yogi Berra Stadium on the campus of New Jersey’s Montclair State University. The stadium honors the great New York Yankee catcher and Montclair native, Yogi Berra. Yogi fans will appreciate the opportunity to walk through the history of baseball, the New York Yankees, and Yogi Berra’s career at the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center, which is located directly adjacent to the ballpark. New Jersey’s Somerset Patriots play at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater, New Jersey. The team is part of independent baseball’s Atlantic League and has been playing baseball in central New Jersey since June of 1999. Somerset Patriots alumni who have played in Major League Baseball include Tim Raines, Jr. and Jerome Walton. The Trenton Thunder play at Arm & Hammer Park in Trenton, New Jersey. The team plays in minor league baseball’s Eastern League and is the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. Prior to their affiliation with the Yankees, this New Jersey minor league baseball team was affiliated with both the Detroit Tigers and the Boston Red Sox.
