On this date in New Jersey history, screenwriter / director / producer Kurt Sutter was born in Rahway, New Jersey in 1964. Sutter grew up in Clark, New Jersey, and graduated from Roselle Catholic High School in 1982. Sutter attended Rutgers University and graduated in 1986 with a BA in mass media and a minor in English. He went on to write, produce, and direct the TV series The Shield and Sons of Anarchy. He is also the screenwriter of the upcoming feature film, Southpaw starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Rachel McAdams, and Forest Whitaker.
