Boy (Troy) meets girl (Gabriella) by chance at a New Year’s party where sparks fly over karaoke. The next semester, Gabriella fatefully transfers to Troy’s East High, where the sweethearts decide to audition for the school musical. The trouble is: Troy’s the star of the basketball team while Gabriella is supposed to be in the Scholastic Decathlon. Can these two defy their jock/brainiac cliques and chase their theatrical dreams?
